Au Sow Yee
Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Au Sow-Yee now lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan. She has an interest in mixed formats of moving images, conceptual art, installation and creates artworks that explore and extend from images and the production of images, as well as the connections between history, politics, and power. She was shortlisted for Han Nefkens Foundation’s Loop Barcelona Video Art Award in 2018; the Asia Pacific Breweries Signature Art Prize in 2018; and the 18th and 14th Taishin Arts Award. She has shown her artworks in 2023 Sharjah Biennale Thinking Historically in the Present, 2022 Busan Biennale We, on the Rising Wave, Sunshower: Contemporary Art from Southeast Asia 1980s to Now at the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2017); 2 or 3 Tigers at Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW, 2017); Asian Film and Video Art Forum at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA, 2017); Condition Report: Mode of Liaisons at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC, 2017); Taipei Biennial 2018: Post-Nature—A Museum as an Ecosystem; and One Song and the Boat at the Times Museum, Guangzhou (2021-2022). Sow-Yee was the co-founder and co-curator for KLEX (Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video and Music Festival) in 2010, 2011 and 2016. She was also a guest writer for online magazine No Man’s Land and co-founded Kuala Lumpur’s Rumah Attap Library and Collective in 2017.

區秀詒,出生成長於吉隆坡,現工作、生活於臺北。其創作主要以動態影像、觀念、裝置等混合形式,探討和擴延影像與影像製造以及和歷史、政治、權力之間的關係。曾入圍「2018 Han Nefkens 基金會 – 巴塞隆納Loop 錄像藝術獎」、「2018年亞太藝術獎」、第十八屆與十四屆台新藝術獎,獲2021臺北美術獎優選。作品在2023沙迦雙年展、2022釜山雙年展、東京森美術館「太陽雨:從1980 年代至今的東南亞當代藝術」(2017)、柏林HKW「2或3隻老虎」(2 or 3 Tigers,2017)、首爾國立現代美術館「亞洲電影與錄像藝術論壇」(Asian Film and Video Art Forum,2017)、曼谷文化與藝術中心「狀態報告:連結模式」(Condition Report: Mode of Liaisons,2017)、2018台北雙年展「後自然:美術館作為一個生態系統」、廣州時代美術館「離岸之歌」(2021-2022)等展覽發表。吉隆坡實驗電影、錄像及音樂節(KLEX)與「亞答屋84號圖書館」共同創辦人之一。
Chen Yow Ruu
1984 Born in Taiwan, Kaohsiung
Artist, theatre director and performer. Her works often integrate the local environment, using sound, video, installation and live performances as creative tactics. She likes to mixture of forms and sound for developing themes in her performative works.
Founder and Theater Director of Her Lab Space, opening up trans-disciplinary collaboration with artists from various backgrounds.
In January 2016, she established her own theatre company “Her Lab Space”, initiated by multiple imaginations on space. Through experimentations and creative practices, Her Lab Space hopes to integrate creative practices of all forms, while collecting trivial things in everyday lives and observations on living environment in contemporary society, and furthermore expand these elements into different dimensions. Exploring the existence and forms of “space” in the dimension of time and space, Her Lab Space hopes to collaborate with artists from different disciplines, and integrates different artistic thinking, in order to construct various possibilities of Her Lab Space.
